a drivers brand
Right now I own a 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe which gets my daily drive done safely with no hesitation. The highlights on this particular car is it’s handling, which happens to be one of my favourite traits of it. It’s a cheap, reliable vehicle containing a motor capable of plenty with heavy modifications equipped. Why am I talking about my Honda and not beginning right away on the main subject, Porsches? In this case, “With great power comes great responsibility” and thick pockets! Before I ever hop into a Porsche for drive hard purposes, I want to make sure I have the seat time experience under my belt. I am hoping my Si can push me in the right direction, but we’ll see.
Ok, Porsches now.

I’m the kind of enthusiast to appreciate all automobiles for what they are. Although I don’t fancy the USDM vehicles, I wouldn’t mind driving around a C8 Vette with StreetHunters kitted to it. There is many platforms in the wild with traits better than others and weaknesses in their own way. If there was only one automotive brand I could drive for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t mind it being Porsche, here’s why.
Porsche puts the enthusiast first
Getting into cars in the year of 2012 led me to explore various applications presented to consumers. I didn’t even know the elements behind what makes an automotive enthusiast an enthusiasts at all. Over the years of experimenting with Honda, the very thought of “If I had enough money to buy a better car, what would I get” lingered in my mind. I stumbled upon the Porsche brand and boy did I step into a different world. Porsche has all the elements that makes their cars the perfect tool in numerous aspects. They look good, they perform amazing, they can be practical, they can be subtle, or they can be all the above! Particularly speaking about performance, enthusiasts are always chasing a thrilling drive and after endless research, Porsche is a tool that simply performs near perfectly for anyone. This 911 Turbo S below is a PRIME example.
The perfect porsche for me - 911 turbo s
Specs: Engine: 3.8L, Boxer-6, 640HP-590LB-FT, AWD with Porsche Traction Management(PTM).
0-100KMs - 2.7 seconds.
MSRP: $235,600
I’ve driven a fair share of different vehicles in my 27-years of existence. Although I haven’t had my fill of Porsches, I can’t ignore the various YouTube videos explaining how beefed up these cars are. The elements I look for in a car is; style, performance and subtlety. Style is important to me because it’s like a personal extension of oneself. Performance is a must because the drive needs to be thrilling enough to get the heart rate pumping. Subtlety is when it’s time to slow down, relax and be comfortable. The new 911 Turbo S checks off all boxes and other boxes I haven’t even listed. Until recently I believed this dream car to be unattainable but there’s so much opportunities out there and people are grappling onto these chances. So if there’s something you really want, you must work hard and smart! You can do it. When I get mine, I’ll take all of you for a spin, if you aren’t driving beside me in one as well!
Interior features
Besides it’s incredible ability to push you in the back of your seat, I can see this machine being the ultimate daily driver for many. The interior is comfortable for many height and weight combinations. If you spec out your own Turbo S you have the option between colour configurations such as; Full Black Interior, Bordeaux Red with Chalk Stitching, Mojave Beige, etc. It has passenger seats, just in case you need to travel with others to lunch, drop the teen to school or have a co-pilot experience the launch control! I love such small things about this car like the single cup holder in the center instead of two - it’s like I’m the king of this machine and that’s where MY drink goes.
Exterior
Just about every Porsche is a looker. When I gaze upon a 992 Porsche 911 I see simplicity but a beast lurking within. Depending on how to you build your Porsche can ultimately decide it’s road presence but for the most part I can arguably state its subtlety compared to competitors. With that said, it’s amazing how the designers still contained the same elements that give “supercar” vibes.
- Wide booty/body
- Active aero
- Side vents
- Beefy 20” wheels accompanied by aggressive breaks
- Ear pleasing exhaust note
Shall I continue?
“There’s a porsche out there for everyone!”

I’d like the thank Porsche Centre Markham for allowing me to invade their beautiful dealership and I will be returning to drool over some more cars in the near future. It’s important to feed our vision so that one day it may come to fruition.
